Capitalising on over a decade of experience working with low powered communication approaches, Envirowatch partnered with the National Green Infrastructure Facility and Urban Observatory at Newcastle University to develop the SoilMOTE – a high density Soil Moisture monitoring solution.
Using the same low powered communication protocol as our E-MOTE devices we interfaced the TEROS 10 from Meter Environment to provide highly precise VWC% (Volumetric Water Content Percentage) readings at 60 second intervals.
This new approach to monitoring soil moisture allows users to gather high spatial and temporal resolution VWC% readings which is improving understanding how antecedent soil conditions can impact local river flooding trends.
